Nuremberg, 23 June 2026: Aero-Dienst has a very special addition to report: around 40,000 honeybees have made their new home on the company's premises. The milestone was made possible by the company's own "Bees Working Group", which successfully established the first colony in close collaboration with the Imkerverein Hersbruck e.V..

A Project Born from Within the Workforce
The initiative traces back to the dedication of 23 employees who came together to form the "Bees Working Group". In the weeks and months leading up to the bees' arrival, the team rolled up their sleeves and got to work — including painting and personalising the beehive together.

"What a fantastic achievement, dear colleagues. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the successful launch of our Bees Working Group — this is a truly exciting project. We look forward to the next steps, to many fascinating insights into the world of our bees, and of course to that first taste of honey," said André Ebach, Managing Director of Aero-Dienst.

Expert Know-How
The Imkerverein Hersbruck e.V., an experienced regional partner, has installed a thriving, productive colony on the site. The colony is in excellent condition and ready for a successful season. Going forward, the association will visit once a week to monitor the bees' wellbeing, track the colony's development, and gradually introduce the members of the "Bees Working Group" to the finer points of beekeeping.

Honeybees are essential to a functioning ecosystem: around 80% of all cultivated and wild plants in Central Europe depend on pollination by insects — and bees play the leading role. With a foraging range of up to 3 kilometres, Aero-Dienst's bees will not only benefit the company's own grounds, but also the surrounding agricultural region of Nuremberg's Knoblauchsland.

Sustainability as a Living Corporate Value
The bee project is part of Aero-Dienst's growing commitment to environmental responsibility and a vibrant workplace culture. Through the Bees Working Group, employees have the opportunity to actively contribute to a meaningful initiative, develop new skills, and make a tangible difference for biodiversity.
